The Accra Regional Police Command has clarified that no arrests have been made in connection with the fire outbreak at the Accra Central Police Barracks, contrary to earlier reports suggesting otherwise.

In a press release issued on June 4, 2026, the Command stated that investigations into the incident are still ongoing and no suspect has been arrested at this stage.

The Police further disclosed that a fire officer who sustained injuries while responding to the blaze is currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital and is in stable condition.

According to the statement, no fatalities have been recorded from the incident, while the cause of the fire remains unknown and is yet to be established.

The Accra Regional Police Command commended the Ghana National Fire Service and all personnel involved in efforts to contain the fire and ensure public safety at the scene.

The Command assured the public that further updates on the incident will be communicated as investigations progress.

The statement was signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region.
