This year’s competition is taking place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium and is scheduled to conclude on May 17 but the early parts of the meet have been dominated by logistical challenges to media personnel covering the championships and athletes participating in the championships.

South Africa shot put athlete Aiden Smith registered his displeasure about the rationing of food at the competition and lamented about the poor state of rooms housing the athletes. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

On the part of the media, personnel covering the event have complained about inadequate working space and erratic internet connection but Bawa Fuseini in an interaction with the media was surprised about the development stating that internet had been paid for.

“We have internet. If the internet is not working today then bring it to our notice we will address it because I know we have internet. I have paid for internet, I have paid for starlink so if it’s not working today just let me know we will fix it” he said.
