Four suspected illegal miners have been arrested during a joint anti-galamsey operation at the Kobro Forest in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region.
The operation, conducted on Monday, May 11,2026, by the Ashanti South Police Command in collaboration with Logist Group Company Limited, targeted illegal mining activities within the forest reserve.
According to authorities, the suspects include two alleged kingpins and two labourers who were reportedly engaged in illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, in the protected forest area.
