Thirty-eight Nigerian nationals suspected of engaging in prostitution have been arrested at Anidaso Hotel in Asafo following a sanitation operation led by the Mayor of Kumasi, Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi.

The exercise uncovered a number of condoms in a nearby gutter, which authorities say were traced back to the hotel. Acting on this, officials moved in and apprehended the suspects on the premises.

Speaking to Kumasi FM, the Mayor indicated that the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to enforce sanitation and public order within the city.

The suspects have since been handed over to the Ghana Immigration Service for screening and possible further action.

Meanwhile, the hotel has been temporarily shut down as authorities await the submission of the necessary operational documents from its owner.
