ADR practitioner, Aunty May Bright Koffie, has raised concern over the growing issue of physical abuse, stressing its deep and lasting effects on victims.
Speaking on Nyansapo fie show on Plan B 104.5 FM, she explained that physical abuse goes beyond the immediate pain inflicted on individuals. According to her, many victims are left with visible injuries such as scars and wounds, some of which take a long time to heal and may even become permanent reminders of the trauma they endured.
She further noted that the impact of physical abuse is not only physical but also emotional and psychological. Victims often struggle with fear, anxiety, and a loss of self-worth, making it difficult for them to rebuild their lives and trust others.
Aunty May Bright Koffie called on families, communities, and society at large to take the issue seriously by supporting victims and speaking openly against abuse. She emphasized the need to break the silence surrounding such acts and to create safe environments where victims can seek help without fear.
Her remarks have sparked conversations on the importance of awareness, prevention, and collective responsibility in tackling physical abuse in society.
