A devastating fire has completely destroyed the HJZ Plywood Company located in Asempaneye, within the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality.

The intense blaze engulfed the company’s main production facility, destroying heavy machinery, raw wood materials awaiting processing, and finished plywood products ready for sale.

The Ghana National Fire Service in Bibiani received a distress call at approximately 1:24 p.m. reporting the outbreak at the production yard. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a fierce blaze but managed to bring the situation under control.

The Fire Commander has urged businesses and residents not to attempt to extinguish any fires on their own. He emphasized the importance of immediately contacting the Ghana National Fire Service whenever a fire occurs to prevent it from spreading.

Additionally, the company’s manager, Osei Kofi, stated that approximately 150 employees will be affected by the fire incident.
