Black Princesses And Black Maidens Test Positive For Coronavirus

Seven players from Ghana’s female junior national teams have tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease just days after camping started.

Players of the women’s national U17 and U20 team, the Black Princesses and Black Maidens respectively, were known to have contracted the disease after series of tests were carried out.

According to reports, the tests by medical officials showed that the seven players from the two teams had contracted the virus, which have so far claimed more than 723,184 lives and counting worldwide.

The GFA in consultation with the Ghana Health Service will decide on whether the camping should continue or be completely called off following the reported cases.

This is also likely to further delay the start of football in the country, which is scheduled to begin in October as this could be seen as an indication of how the disease could spread if football activities resume.

Meanwhile, the seven players who have contracted the disease have been immediately isolated and are being treated to avoid the spreading of the disease to teammates and officials.
