Government approves payment plan for nurses and midwives’ salary arrears

Finance Ministry issues clearance for payment of allowances to rotation nurses

The Ministry of Health Ghana has announced the approval of a structured payment plan to clear outstanding salary arrears owed to nurses and midwives recruited during the 2024/2025 recruitment year.

In a press release dated February 26, 2026, the Ministry confirmed that negotiations regarding the delayed payments have been successfully concluded. Following engagements with the Ministry of Finance Ghana, government has granted approval for the arrears to be settled in four instalments from April through July.

Approved Payment Schedule:

  • April: Two months
  • May: Three months
  • June: Three months
  • July: Three month
