Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, will step up preparations for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) when they compete in the 2026 Pink Ladies Cup, scheduled to take place from February 28 to March 6.

The invitational tournament, sanctioned by the Ghana Football Association, will see the Black Queens lock horns with Russia, Hong Kong, and Tanzania, offering the technical team a valuable opportunity to assess the squad against diverse international opposition.

The Pink Ladies Cup forms a critical part of Ghana’s build-up as head coach and her technical staff intensify efforts to shape a competitive team capable of making a strong impression at WAFCON. The matches are expected to test the Black Queens’ tactical discipline, squad depth, and match fitness ahead of the continental showpiece.

Beyond preparation, the tournament also provides a platform for emerging talents to stake their claim for a place in the final WAFCON squad, while established players look to fine-tune combinations and regain competitive rhythm.

With women’s football gaining renewed attention and support, the Black Queens will be aiming to use the Pink Ladies Cup not just as a warm-up exercise, but as a statement of intent as Ghana eyes a return to the top tier of African women’s football.
