The Executive Secretary of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA), Gloria Kafui Hiadzi, has died.

A statement issued on behalf of the Sumah, Hiadzi and allied families announced that Madam Hiadzi passed away on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, after a short illness.

She was a key figure in Ghana’s media and broadcasting space, serving as Executive Secretary of GIBA, the umbrella body for private radio and television stations across the country. Beyond her role at GIBA, she was also a member of the boards of the Private Enterprises Federation (PEF) and the Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC).

In her professional life, Gloria Kafui Hiadzi was widely regarded as a dedicated and principled administrator, whose work focused on strengthening the private broadcasting industry and advancing stakeholder engagement within Ghana’s media landscape.

In a tribute accompanying the announcement, GIBA described her as a committed professional whose service to the media and broadcasting industry would be deeply missed.

The family has appealed to stakeholders, friends, and the general public to keep them in their prayers and to respect their privacy during this period of grief. Funeral arrangements, according to the statement, will be communicated in due course.

Madam Hiadzi’s passing comes as a significant loss to Ghana’s independent media fraternity, where she played an instrumental role in policy discussions, advocacy, and institutional development.
