James Tamakloe, an NPP communicator for the Tema West Constituency, has cautioned against any attempt by Parliament to pass legislation that would allow former President John Dramani Mahama to contest for a third term in office, warning that such a move could destabilize the country.
Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem, Mr. Tamakloe stated that he would not be surprised if Parliament attempts to push through a third-term agenda for Mr. Mahama, but emphasized that such a decision would seriously disrupt the peace and democratic stability of Ghana.
According to him, Ghana’s Constitution is clear on the two-term limit for presidents, and any attempt to amend it for the benefit of one individual would undermine the rule of law and public trust in the country’s democratic institutions
