President John Dramani Mahama marked the first anniversary of his decisive victory on December 7, 2025, with a message of gratitude and a renewed commitment to his vision for the country.

In a post on Instagram reflecting on the day, President Mahama recalled the determination of millions of Ghanaians who queued to vote, driven by hope and faith in the promise of his #ResettingGhana agenda.

“Thank you, Ghanaians. You believed in the promise of a #ResettingGhana agenda. You trusted in our collective vision to ‘Build the Ghana We Want’,” he said.

He also praised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party members, polling agents, and campaign teams for their efforts, calling them “the heartbeat of this victory.”

He credited the vigilance of polling agents for safeguarding the electoral process and countering what he described as attempts to subvert the will of the people.

President Mahama renewed his pledge to build “a Ghana for all our people, without discrimination, without exclusion, without favouritism,” emphasising that the vision of The Ghana We Want is “not a dream deferred but a promise in progress.”

He reiterated his commitment to the #ResettingGhana agenda and promised that his government, together with Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, would continue working to create opportunities, restore hope, and rebuild trust in Ghana’s institutions.

“To my NDC family, hold on tight. Your reward is not just in positions or appointments, but in the Ghana we are building together, delivering a Ghana where your children will have opportunities, where justice prevails, and where hard work is rewarded,” he said.

President Mahama concluded by assuring Ghanaians that “the journey continues” and “the work goes on,” thanking citizens and party members alike for their support.

Mahama secured a decisive victory with 6,328,397 votes representing 56.55% of the valid votes cast, defeating his primary rival, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 4,657,304 votes representing 41.61% in this year’s general elections, marking a significant comeback to the presidency after his previous term ended in 2017.
