A 20-year-old girl, Maame Adwoa, has been arrested for allegedly killing an 18-year-old girl, Maame Akua, in a fight at Ahwerewam near Mankranso in the Ashanti Region.

According to reports, the suspect was arrested by the Mankranso Police on Monday, November 10, 2025, following the alleged killing.

Hon. Ishmeal Agyeman Dua, Assembly Member for Adugyama and Presiding Member for Ahafo Ano South West District in an interview with OTEC News confirmed the killing and the arrest.

According to him  the suspect stabbed the deceased in the neck with a scissors during a fight.

“We understand the suspect had insulted the mother of the deceased and so the deceased approached to warn her from repeating the act,” he said.

“During their altercation, the suspect Maame Adwoa slapped the deceased Maame Akua leading to a fight,” he added.

“Those who were around said the deceased had the scissors in her bag already during the fight and attacked the victim,” Hon. Dua  revealed.

The suspect is currently in police custody, while the deceased has been deposited at Bechem Hospital.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
