Minister Slams Gambling As Path to Failure

Prophet Warns: ”Gambling Epidemic Could Cripple Hardworking Youth in 10-15 Years”

Rev. Michael Yaoo Banson, Resident Pastor of Rehoboth Holyfire Revival Ministries International, has condemned gambling as a path to failure.

In an interview with Nana Asabea on Plan B FM’s social and lifestyle programme, he drew a parallel between trading and betting, noting that while trading involves risks and potential gains, betting only leads to loss of time and resources due to low productivity.

“It is undeniable that the potential for substantial profits can be exhilarating. However, trading also involves risks, and losses are an inherent part of the game,” he said.

Rev. Christiana Otoo Lartey, Senior Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, echoed similar sentiments, stating that gambling addiction destroys individuals by consuming their time and resources, leading to negative consequences.

“A worker could lose their job due to gambling, as it affects their productivity and concentration, leading to dire consequences,” she warned.

She urged gamblers to oppose the spirit of gambling by giving it up and praying for God’s intervention to rescue them from its bondage.

Lady Elizabeth Kesewaa Nortey, renowned speaker and Creative Director of Kess Millinery and Beads, described gambling as inherently bad, especially when it becomes an addiction.

“It begins with the initial joy of winning, luring one to a point where withdrawal becomes nearly impossible,” she said.

“I haven’t come across anyone who has been addicted to gambling and become successful,” she concluded.
