Tensions flared in the Dormaa West District on Monday when a group of aggrieved youth locked up the office of the District Coordinating Director, effectively chasing him out of the premises.
The incident occurred at the Dormaa West District Assembly offices in Nkrankwanta, where the youth protested the continued presence of the Coordinating Director, whom they claim has refused a legitimate transfer to another district.

According to the demonstrators, the officer in question was transferred to the Afram Plains District but allegedly declined the posting, insisting on returning to Dormaa West. The youth say they will not allow him to resume work in the area, arguing that his presence could disrupt the smooth administration of the Assembly.
“We don’t want him here. He was transferred but refused to go. He doesn’t understand the issues in this area and cannot contribute meaningfully to our development,” one of the protestors told reporters.
