Ken Agyapong’s Team Hails Number One Ballot Position As “Sign Of Victory”

First-year SHS day students require GHS600 to buy items on prospectus, not GHS3,500 — Ministry of Education

Speaking to journalists after the balloting exercise at the NPP headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra, on Friday, October 10, the spokesperson for the Agyapong campaign, Kwasi Kwarteng, said the process was fair, transparent, and reflective of the party’s democratic values.

He added that the team views the outcome as a morale boost rather than a guarantee of victory, noting that their confidence rests on the strength of their message, not the ballot position.

“Our focus remains the same, reaching every delegate with our message of change, renewal, and job creation. Ken Agyapong stands for jobs, jobs, and more jobs,” he stated.

Mr. Kwarteng dismissed comparisons to the 2024 race, where Mr. Agyapong also picked the first spot but lost, saying the dynamics are entirely different this time.

“These are two distinct elections. The fact that we picked number one again is symbolic and reinforces our belief that this race is guided by divine purpose,” he said.

He further assured that the campaign will intensify its engagement with delegates nationwide.

“We will continue to speak to delegates about Ken’s vision and trust that God will guide this process in our favour,” he added.

The NPP presidential primary is scheduled for January 31, 2026, with Ken Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong contesting for the flagbearer slot.
