The Head Pastor of Doxa Citadel and General Secretary of Shepherd To Shepherd Network Clergy, Reverend Dr. Emmanuel Appiah Aning, has urged the masses to be mindful of their words, as they have the power to create reality.
Speaking in an interview with Odiamono Kwaku Gyimah on Plan B FM’s social and lifestyle show, “Nyansapɔ Fie”, Rev. Dr. Aning emphasised that people are in their current state because of what they said to themselves in the past.
He revealed that whatever words one speaks are stored in a “Word Bank” spiritually, which can be used against or for them. Therefore, it is essential to utter positive words for upliftment.
Rev. Dr. Aning cited biblical encouragement to be positive, stating, “Let the weak say, ‘I am strong,’ and the poor say, ‘I am rich.'”
Rev. Dr. Aning also advised individuals to repent, renounce, and reverse any negative words spoken by the tongue to avoid being a victim of them.
Supporting this view, Rev. Sam Manful, Head Pastor of Global Ark of Grace International, described the tongue as potent, creative, healing, encouraging, and decision-making.
However, he also noted that it can be corrosive, venomous, sharp, deadly, and deceptive. He cautioned that the seed planted with the tongue never dies, even after a century, and therefore, people must be cautious with their words.
Using the crane as an example, Rev. Manful said, “The tongue is also a trap and must be tamed so as not to be a bait for prey.” He emphasised the importance of being mindful of one’s words, as someone may use them against or for an individual.
Mary Bright Abelenma Coffie, a youth counsellor, fashion designer, and Alternative Dispute Resolution expert, warned parents and guardians against cursing their wards with their tongue.
She cited an example of a generational curse that befell a family due to a curse uttered by a lady. She lamented that only people with mental instability would fancy cursing their wards in this modern era.
Rev. Kusi-Boadum Kwame of Graceway Fountain Ministries also contributed to the discussion, calling for a culture of positive thinking and positive confessions.
In his household, they proclaim, “We are strong and healthy,” instead of confessing weakness.
He warned that cursing children only causes damage to oneself, as they would have been a source of support in times of need.
