State Assets Must Benefit The Nation, Not Individuals – Francis Badu Melo

State Assets Must Benefit The Nation, Not Individuals – Francis Badu Melo

Deputy NADMO Coordinator and NDC communicator for Kpone Katamanso, Francis Badu Melo, has expressed support for President Mahama’s decision to regulate the sale of state properties.

Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem live on Plan B 104.5 FM, he noted that while there is no law restricting citizens from purchasing government assets, the absence of clear regulations in the past allowed previous administrations to sell state properties at cheaper rates to themselves.

According to him, that is why former President Mahama initially placed a ban on the sale of such properties and later introduced measures to ensure transparency and fairness in the process. He emphasized that regulations such as ensuring state-favored prices would protect the national interest.

Mr. Badu Melo further argued that lifting the ban under strict regulations is a better approach than what he described as the unregulated practices that occurred under the NPP administration.
