The government has released full details for the state funeral of the eight victims of the August 6 helicopter crash in Adansi Akrufuom, which will take place tomorrow with full military honours conducted by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

At a press briefing earlier today, Deputy Chief of Staff Stan Dogbe announced that the ceremony will be held in three parts—beginning with Bible and Qur’an recitals, followed by the main service, and concluding with the burial.

The pre-burial programme will run from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., after which a three-hour service will feature the reading of biographies of all eight victims, along with tributes from widows, children, government officials, and institutional representatives.

The public is being urged to arrive early and comply with all security arrangements.

According to Air Commodore Thomas Okai, the funeral will be primarily military in nature.

The Ghana Armed Forces will transport the remains from the morgue to Black Star Square for the service, and later to the military cemetery for burial.

Military chaplains will lead the rites, supported by civilian ministers, pastors, and imams.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Obeng of the MTTD announced that traffic regulations will be in force from this afternoon to ensure smooth vehicle movement around the venue.

Motorists have been advised to follow police instructions, use designated parking areas, and avoid routes leading directly to the ceremonial grounds unless authorised.
