GFA announces March 7 as resumption date for Ghana Premier League

GFA announces March 7 as resumption date for Ghana Premier League
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the resumption of the  Premier League across the country. The 2024-25 Ghana Premier League will recommence with Matchday 23 on the weekend of Friday, March 7, to Monday, March 10, 2025.

This resumption is contingent upon ongoing safety and security inspections of all venues, conducted jointly by the GFA and the Ministry of  Sports and Recreation.

Following widespread consultations with stakeholders and the training of key personnel on the Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols 2025—a document shaped largely by input from clubs—the GFA has confirmed the return of top-flight football.

The association has also released the schedule for the outstanding fixtures from Matchdays 20, 21, and 22. Matchday 20 is set for Tuesday, March 18, to Thursday, March 20; Matchday 21 will occur from Tuesday, April 1, to Thursday, April 3; and Matchday 22 is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, to Thursday, April 17, 2025, all at approved venues.

Additionally, an outstanding MTN FA Cup match between Asante Kotoko and Sekondi Eleven Wise has been fixed for Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

The GFA further urged full cooperation from all stakeholders, including the Ghana Police Service, to ensure safety and security at match venues.
