The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema West Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Hon. Lawyer James Enu, has emphasized that creating job opportunities—especially for the youth—is his topmost priority.

Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nkosuo Nsem show with Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Friday, February 14, 2025, James Enu highlighted how some industries in Tema have collapsed due to financial difficulties.

“Youth unemployment is very high in Tema, and I have pledged to my constituents that I will do everything I can to curb it,” he stated.

“It’s my topmost priority to tackle youth unemployment in my constituency,” he reiterated.

James Enu also expressed dissatisfaction with the state of some industries in Tema, noting that many no longer have the capacity to employ people.

He further indicated that the NDC government would revamp industries such as TOR, VALCO, Drydock, and Shipyard to restore employment opportunities.

James Enu assured the people of Tema West that he would raise the issue in Parliament to draw the President’s attention to his promise of revamping Tema’s industries.

“I will make a statement on the floor of Parliament next week—God willing—to remind the President of his promise to revamp these industries,” he said.

The lawmaker added that he has already begun engaging key stakeholders to attract investors who can help revive industries in Tema.
