A fire outbreak at the girls’ dormitory of Saboba EP Senior High School in the Northern Region has claimed the life of a first-year student, Binidan Theresah.

Her body was discovered burnt beyond recognition after the fire was extinguished.

Reports indicate that Theresah was unwell and stayed in the dormitory, which was locked to prevent others from finding out she remained inside.

Unfortunately, she was forgotten during the fire, leading to her tragic death.

The District Fire Officer, ADO 1 Yussif Issahaku, revealed that their fire tender’s pump malfunctioned, forcing firefighters to rely on buckets of water.

He urged the public to be cautious with naked fires, particularly during the dry season, to avoid similar incidents.
