Parliament has approved the first batch of ministerial nominees appointed by President John Dramani Mahama following a rigorous vetting and debate process.

The approved nominees include:

  • Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister for Finance
  • John Jinapor as Minister for Energy
  • Dr. Dominic Ayine as Attorney General and Minister for Justice

The Appointments Committee conducted the vetting on Monday, January 13, 2025, thoroughly assessing the nominees’ qualifications, experience, and vision for their respective roles.

Following the vetting, the committee presented its report to the House for debate.

The plenary deliberations saw extensive discussions on the nominees’ competence and plans for addressing national challenges.

After the debate, Members of Parliament voted in favour of their approval, paving the way for the nominees to assume their ministerial roles.

This marks the first step in President Mahama’s efforts to build a team capable of delivering on his administration’s priorities.
