Ms Gifty Agyeiwaa Badu, Metro Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) for Tema Metropolitan Assembly, has issued a strong warning against post-election vandalism, citing its threat to peace and stability in Ghana.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s “Nyansapɔ Fie” with hostess Nana Asabea, Ms Agyeiwaa Badu emphasised that such actions can mar Ghana’s peaceful transition period and escalate into destructive conflicts.
Ms Agyeiwaa Badu referenced Article 1, Clause 1 of the 1992 Constitution, highlighting the people’s sovereignty and the president’s mandate to rule on their behalf. She appealed to political parties to discourage vandalism and protect state properties, rather than seeking revenge.
By promoting responsible behaviour and respect for state institutions, Ghanaians can ensure a smooth transition of power and build a brighter future for the nation.
