Settle your electricity bills to prevent disconnection – ECG urges the Public

Settle your electricity bills to prevent disconnection – ECG urges the Public
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for the Tema Region, Ohemaa Sekyiwaa, has urged the Ghanaian public and ECG customers to settle their outstanding bills promptly to avoid disconnection.

In an interview with Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Plan B FM’s Nkosuo Nsem show on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Ohemaa Sekyiwaa appealed to ECG customers to pay their bills on time.

She emphasized that ECG does not take pleasure in disconnecting customers’ electricity supply, but unpaid bills continue to accumulate, making disconnections inevitable.

“Your electricity will be disconnected if you fail to pay your bills,” she stated.

Regarding prepaid meter users, she noted that disconnection mainly occurs due to illegal connections.

“We won’t deliberately disconnect your electricity, but if you know you owe ECG, take the necessary steps to settle your debt,” she added.
