We Don’t Need A Foreign Coach As Technical Director – Rev. Osei Kofi

Former Ghana international, Rev. Osei Kofi has advised the GFA not to appoint an expatriate coach to be the new Technical Director.

The two-time AFCON winner believes there are equally good coaches in the country who are competent and capable to do the job.

In an interview with Tema Community 2 based radio station Plan B FM on the Ka Wadwen sports show, the triple olympian lamented the poor performance of foreign coaches in our football in recent times.

“If the GFA want to appoint a foreign coach as Technical director, I will advise them to rescind their decision because it will not yield any positive results”

“We have wasted huge sums of taxpayers money on foreign coaches but what do we see?” he quizzed.

“we need to give more opportunities to our retired Footballers to serve as Technical Directors and we will see the kind of work they will do” he added.

The Technical Director position of the FA has been held by Oti Akenten since 2005 until he was asked to proceed on leave in December 2019 by the current administration.
