One individual was reportedly shot and killed at the Agbogbloshie market on Wednesday, January 1, following rising tensions among local residents in the area.

The incident prompted an immediate response from law enforcement, who are currently on-site to maintain order and prevent further escalation.

Reports indicate that tensions flared at the Agbogbloshie market, with a confrontation erupting among residents, predominantly from northern Ghana.

Eyewitnesses suggest the unrest stemmed from a political dispute over leadership roles within the market.
