The National Chief Imam, Sheik Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, at his office in Parliament, Accra.

The visit showed a strong relationship between religious leaders and the country’s political leadership. Alban Bagbin expressed his gratitude to the Chief Imam through a social media post after the meeting.

In his post, the Speaker of Parliament thanked the Chief Imam for making time to visit him and offering words of wisdom. He described the meeting as humbling and stated that he felt blessed by the quality advice given to him. Bagbin further expressed his appreciation, emphasizing that he was forever thankful for the Imam’s gesture.

While the details of their discussion were not disclosed, it is believed that the visit could have been to share goodwill messages for the New Year and to strengthen friendly relations. Such meetings are often seen as opportunities for leaders to discuss issues of national interest, unity, and peace.

Sheik Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, who has served as the Chief Imam since 1993, is widely respected for his leadership and efforts to promote peace and religious tolerance in Ghana. At over 100 years old, he continues to play a key role in guiding the Muslim community and fostering harmony among different religious groups. His influence goes beyond the Muslim community, as he is often invited to national events and consulted on matters affecting the nation.

Alban Bagbin, on the other hand, is Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament and one of the most experienced politicians in the country. With a political career spanning decades, he has served in various leadership roles, gaining a reputation for his dedication to democracy and governance. As Speaker, he has consistently advocated for fairness, transparency, and inclusivity in Ghana’s legislative processes.
