CETAG declares nationwide strike

4 Teacher Unions Declare Nationwide Indefinite Strike Over Cost Of Living Allowance
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has announced an indefinite strike starting Thursday, January 2, 2025.

This decision was made following an Emergency National Council meeting on Monday, December 30, 2024.

In a statement issued on December 31, CETAG noted that the strike comes after multiple notices served on September 26 and December 23, 2024, which the National Labour Commission (NLC) failed to address.

CETAG accuses the government of violating agreements and disregarding a compulsory arbitration award issued by the NLC on May 2, 2023, prompting the drastic move.
