Okuapeman honors Dan Botwe as ‘Nkosuohene’ in recognition of His Service

Daniel Kwaku Botwe, the outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for Okere, has been bestowed with the title of ‘Nkosuohene’ (Development Chief) of Akuapem.

The honor is a tribute to his unwavering dedication, integrity, and exceptional service to the people of Akuapem, particularly during his tenure as MP for Okere.

The title was conferred upon him at the annual Odwira Durbar of the Akuapem Nifa Division in Adukrom, where the Chiefs and people of the Akuapem Traditional Area celebrated his remarkable contributions.

Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio, Akuapem Nifahene and Chief of Adukrom, representing Oseadeyo Kwasi Akuffo, the Okuapehene, praised Botwe for his tireless work and selfless service to Ghana.

This gesture aims to tap into Botwe’s vast political experience as he prepares to retire from Parliament in January 2025.

A former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Minister of State, Botwe is widely recognized for his leadership, both as an MP for Okere and in his significant role in creating six new regions during his tenure as Minister for Regional Reorganisation and Development.

Botwe, humbled by the honor, expressed his gratitude to the chiefs and people of Akuapem for their support over the years. He pledged his continued support to the Okere MP-elect and the ongoing development of Okere and Akuapem.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Oseadeyo Kwasi Akuffo, the Okuapehene, and other divisional chiefs.
