Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club are on a roll and the club’s new signing, Kwame Opoku, aided the Porcupine Warriors in clinching their fourth win in a row in the Ghana Premier League.

Kotoko beat Bibiani Gold Stars 2-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium to move to second place in the league standings at the time of writing with 27 points and just three points behind league leaders Kpando Hearts of Lions.

Kotoko captain Justice Blay converted a penalty kick in the 20th minute and in his first game since returning to Kotoko, Kwame Opoku effectively sealed the win for Kotoko with a smart finish inside the box in the 73rdminute.

Leading the attack in the absence of top scorer Albert Amoah, who is on international duties with the Black Galaxies on Saturday December 28 for a crucial CHAN qualifier against Nigeria, Opoku received a pass and quickly shifted the ball on to his right side to create space before planting the ball into far end of the goal.

Opoku recently returned to Kotoko after spending time at Algerian side USM Alger and Moroccan side Olympique Khourigba.

In his first go around with Kotoko, Opoku scored seven goals in 16 league games. Scroll down to watch Kwame Opoku’s goal against Gold Stars.
