No need erecting scapegoats for your defeat; arrogance and corruption caused it — Dr. Omane Boamah to NPP

Director of IT and Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Omane Boamah has suggested the cause of the New Patriotic Party’s defeat to the political party.

His diagnosis comes after the party inaugurated an election review committee to look into the cause of their massive defeat in the 2024 election.

To him, this is not the time to erect scapegoats for their defeat because they are already aware of the cause of their defeat.

Mentioning the primary cause of the NPP’s defeat In the 2024 elections, Dr Omane Boamah said “It’s the economy, economy, economy, economy, corruption and arrogance. At this stage in defeat, people who refused to listen to feedback are going to erect scapegoats.We’ve been here before…”.

Meanwhile, apart from the cause of their defeat, the NPP’s election review committee has been asked to look at the need for some amendments in the decision making processes in the political party.

Chairman Stephen Ntim while addressing the media on December 23 said “One critical area that must occupy the attention of the election review committee is the possible need for a constitutional amendment and the restructuring of the party’s internal decision-making processes, particularly on the mode of electing presidential, parliamentary, and party executives, among others.”
