Some political parties in Ghana, including the All People’s Congress (APC) and the Movement for Change, have called for the resignation of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), citing what they describe as poor management of the 2024 general elections.

In interviews with Channel One News, party representatives emphasized the urgent need for reforms within the EC to restore public confidence in the electoral process.

The Presidential Candidate of the APC specifically called for immediate structural and operational reforms within the Commission to ensure future elections are conducted transparently and efficiently.

In an interview with Channel One News, he criticized the delayed collation and declaration of both parliamentary and presidential election results, labelling the situation as unacceptable. “If we were using a digital voting process, by now we would have finished having the results.
