A member of the Communications Team for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kpone-Katamanso Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Samuel Aborbi, popularly known as ‘Aban,’ has expressed dissatisfaction with the current administration of President Akufo-Addo regarding the management of the state’s resources.

Aborbi highlighted that President Akufo-Addo, who had promised Ghanaians in opposition to protect the public purse if elected, has instead caused significant financial loss to the country.

Speaking during a panel discussion on Plan B FM’s Nkosuo Nsem show, hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Thursday, 19 December 2024, Aborbi asserted that the president and his appointees have misused the country’s resources.

“The president who promised to protect the public purse has squandered everything in it,” Aborbi stated.

He further alleged that several appointees in Akufo-Addo’s government have stolen funds meant for developmental projects.

“The National Cathedral project, for instance, into which the president pumped a whopping $58 million, has become a burden on Ghanaians,” he noted.

Aborbi also called for the Office of the Special Prosecutor to be scrapped and replaced with an Anti-Corruption Committee tasked with investigating government officials suspected of corruption in both outgoing and incoming administrations.
