Corruption Fight: NDC’s Ike lord urges president-elect to adequately resource office of the special prosecutor

Corruption Fight: NDC’s Ike lord urges president-elect to adequately resource office of the special prosecutor

A member of the Communications Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Kpone-Katamanso Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Isaac Lord Nartey, has urged President-elect John Dramani Mahama to adequately resource the Office of the Special Prosecutor to effectively combat corruption and related issues.

Lord Nartey further stated that if Lawyer Kissi Agyebeng is to be retained as Special Prosecutor, the President-elect must ensure his continued appointment and appoint other non-partisan individuals to assist in the fight against corruption.

Speaking to Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Plan B FM’s Nkosuo Nsem show on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Isaac Lord Nartey emphasized that the fight against corruption is the topmost priority of the next NDC government.

“The next NDC government will deal with corrupt appointees in President Akufo-Addo’s administration and even in John Dramani Mahama’s administration,” he stated.

He further added that resources and logistics must be provided to anti-corruption agencies in the country to help recover stolen state funds.

Isaac Lord Nartey stressed that individuals appointed to serve in John Dramani Mahama’s government must prioritize the interests of Ghanaians over personal gain.

He concluded by noting that it would be unfortunate if John Dramani Mahama fails to take action against corrupt appointees who served under President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
