Tema Drowns in Filth: Assemblyman Condemns Neglect

Tema Drowns in Filth: Assemblyman Condemns Neglect
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Hon. Charles Amos, Assemblymember for Padmore Electoral Area, Tema, has expressed outrage over the city’s worsening trash crisis.

In a recent interview on Plan FM’s ‘Nkɔsoɔnsɛm’ with host Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi, Amos condemned the Assembly’s neglect of filth management.

“The Meridian City has turned into a filth city, with garbage everywhere. It’s appalling. Authorities must act now before it’s too late,” he warned.

Amos blamed the authorities’ neglect for a recent incident where a truck crashed into pavement traders, miraculously causing no casualties. He also cited drivers’ lawlessness, resulting from the National Road Safety Authority’s inaction.

“Articulated trucks park illegally, damaging gutters and causing worry. They must be monitored and regulated,” Amos added.

He called for clampdowns on illegal parking and fines to deter offenders and prevent road crashes.

With elections over, Amos vowed to push for Tema’s beautification through the new administration. “Tema keeps getting stinking, but I’ll ensure it gets the facelift it deserves,” he promised.
