Malik Basintale was recently speaking on TV3 Ghana when he revealed that the NPP has quickly auctioned over 50 government vehicles to friends. He further went ahead to assure Ghanaians that the NDC will try as much as possible to retrieve it when they get into power.
“In his Words”
“Just three days ago when the government lost elections, they decided to start auctioning vehicles, I have a whole list of government vehicles that have been quickly auctioned to people already, they have been valued, they have been auctioned, more than 50 vehicles quickly auctioned to friends. They will be retrieved because you can not quickly auction vehicles like that and just allow it go down the drain. Look, In this country, today you import goods and before you could do anything they are already on your neck because they want to seize your goods and auction it to their own people you know”.
“Why do you do this to Ghanaians, why do you do this to innocent importers who bring their commodities to this country to sell and make a living. And so, this government has been wicked to the Ghanaian people no matter how you look at it. They have stolen, they have mismanaged the economy, they have led us into a ditch and they still have the guts to still speak and tease us in our faces. And then you come before us again, and then you come to joke with us that Ghanaians are going to forgive you for all the things you were doing”.
“So Rowland, operation return all the loot, I’m passionate about it, I feel people must be held accountable, and not just persons from the NPP but also persons from the NDC you know who decides to misappropriate funds. If President John Dramani Mahama appoints you and let me sound that caution, and you come into office and you loot, we would bring you out of your office and hold you accountable. We would let the law deal with you, President Mahama has said it, this is not a man who’s going to tolerate a single iota of corruption under his government”.
“President Mahama is not going to be called the mother serpent of corruption, he’s going to fight corruption, he’s going to face it head on and he has demonstrated that before you know. And he will repeat it, if you know you are coming to work under President Mahama’s administration, and the intention is to come and loot, create loot and share, then please you better forget it”, Malik Basintale said.
