NDC accuses Annoh-Dompreh of shooting supporter in the leg

NDC accuses Annoh-Dompreh of shooting supporter in the leg

Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, has accused the incumbent Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, of shooting a supporter of the party.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, December 9, 2024, Sammy Gyamfi alleged that Annoh-Dompreh shot a supporter of the party in the leg.

He hinted that the NDC would initiate criminal charges against Annoh-Dompreh, who is the chief whip for the NPP caucus in Parliament.

“As for Annoh-Dompreh, who shot one of our supporters in the thigh, he shouldn’t worry, January 7 isn’t far. The day of accountability is coming. Don’t take the laws into your own hands. We waited for eight years to come, so don’t do the things the NPP did, for which reason Ghanaians have rejected them. Let’s reflect the persona and character of our leader, John Mahama,” he said.

Meanwhile, the party has also condemned acts of vandalism and looting of state properties in parts of the country following its victory in the 2024 presidential elections.

In a statement issued on Monday, December 8, 2024, the party expressed disappointment over these incidents, which it described as lawless and potentially destabilizing.

According to the party, certain incidents were carried out by over-jubilant supporters of the NDC who have been carried away by the excitement of the party’s resounding victory in the just-ended Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

“Some of these acts of vandalism and looting of state properties are reported to have been carried out by disgruntled supporters of the New Patriotic Party who believe that their party’s Parliamentary Candidates hoarded state-procured food items, fertilizer, and other materials which were meant to be distributed before the December 7 elections, as part of the NPP’s voter inducement strategy.”
