A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team, Dela Appetor, has attributed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) loss in the Tema West constituency to what he describes as arrogance and disrespect for the will of the people.
Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem with Kofi Sakyi, Mr. Appetor cited the controversial implementation of the E-Levy tax as a key example of the NPP’s disregard for public opinion. According to him, Ghanaians strongly opposed the E-Levy and expressed their concerns, but the government proceeded with its implementation despite widespread dissent.
“The government ignored the voices of the people and imposed policies Ghanaians clearly did not support. That arrogance and disrespect cost them dearly in this election,” he stated.
Mr. Appetor commended the people of Tema West for voting overwhelmingly for the NDC candidate, Lawyer James Enu, to represent the constituency in Parliament. He urged Lawyer Enu to honor the trust and confidence of his constituents by addressing their needs and driving development in the area.
“The people of Tema West have spoken loud and clear by choosing Lawyer James Enu to represent them. He must respect this mandate and work diligently to bring the development the people are yearning for,” Mr. Appetor emphasized.
The NDC’s victory in Tema West is considered a significant milestone, reflecting growing dissatisfaction with the ruling party and signaling a strong desire for change and accountable leadership.
