In a press release dated December 2, 2024, the OSP noted that it had deployed its anti-corruption mandate and powers aimed at preventing, controlling, and repressing corruption, fraud, and unfair practices related to the elections.

The OSP emphasised the importance of transparency and accountability in the electoral process.

It warned all officers involved in the counting of votes at polling stations, collation centres, and the transmission and publication of election results that it is a serious offence to willfully falsify vote counts or make false returns.

The OSP also reminded the public that engaging in corrupt acts such as vote buying, vote selling, intimidation, threats of violence, acts of violence, or impersonation of a voter or an electoral officer is strictly prohibited by law.

The office assured that it is vigilant and ready to address any such occurrences promptly.

Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng stated, “The Office is alive to its mandate and would promptly address any such occurrence which comes to its notice.”
