Afenyo Markin sues Journalist over politician chopping somebody’s wife teaser

Afenyo-Markin blasts speaker bagbin for bias, NPP stages walkout after speaker’s ruling
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has filed a writ against an Accra-based investigative journalist.

He is claiming that a ‘teaser’ the journalist allegedly circulated on a social media platform, is in reference to him.

The teaser, the subject of the writ, makes reference to ‘an MP impregnating somebody’s bride-to be and paying off the husband’.

The case is currently before the Kaneshie District Court “1”, says our normally reliable judicial sources.

Even though the story hinted at by the ‘teaser’ is yet to be published, Mr. Afenyo-Markin is certain that the references are with regard to him, and is in court seeking GHC500,000.00 in damages and an order of perpetual injunction.

Mr. Markin is represented by lawyer Paa Kwesi Abadoo of Dehyena Chambers from West Legon.
