The National House of Chiefs say they will resort to seizing and burning equipment to ensure that galamsey becomes a thing of the past.

In a statement issued on November 1, 2024, the National House of Chiefs mentioned that they are aware of illegal mining known in the local parlance as Galamsey and its devastating effect and will ensure that they fight against it. ” The National House of Chiefs has condemned illegal mining with its environmental and health hazards.
