We won’t accept automatic re-arrangement on the ballot paper – NDC warns EC

Director of IT and Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Omane Boamah, has issued a barrage of stern warnings to the electoral commission that it will not accept an automatic rearrangement of places on the ballot papers. The Electoral Commission, in a statement, announced that the Ghana Freedom Party has been given ten days to nominate a candidate for the 2024 elections. The statement indicated that there is no due process by the constitution on how to handle matters with regards to the death of a flagbearer. Adding that printing of the ballot papers has been suspended until the Ghana Freedom Party nominates a candidate. But reacting to the EC’s statement, Dr. Omane Boamah indicated that regardless of the outcome of the EC’s dealings with the Ghana Freedom Party, it will not accept an automatic rearrangement of the flagbearers on the ballot paper. His post shared via social media said, “Electoral Commission Ghana, we shall not accept automatic re-arrangement of positions on the ballot! Just note it and keep it holy!”
