Police arrest Accra man with body of woman stuffed in sack

According to the video posted today Monday by Metro TV Ghana, police arrested a man after discovering the body of a woman hidden in a sack he was carrying in Accra.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was taken into custody after concerned locals noticed his suspicious behavior and alerted authorities.

This tragic event has shaken the community, and police have launched an investigation to uncover the details surrounding the woman’s death.

According to witnesses, the man was seen struggling to carry a large sack along a quiet street in a neighborhood in central Accra. His unusual actions caught the attention of residents, who felt something was wrong.

One local shared, “He was moving slowly and looking around nervously. The sack looked heavy, and he seemed to be in a hurry.”

Suspicions quickly grew among the onlookers, who decided to report the situation to nearby police.

When officers arrived, they approached the man and questioned him about the contents of the sack. Reports indicate he tried to evade their questions and acted nervously, but the police insisted he open the sack for inspection.

To their horror, they found the body of a woman inside. Police officers at the scene immediately restrained the man and took him into custody.

A spokesperson for the Accra Regional Police Command stated,

“The discovery of this woman’s body is both shocking and tragic. We are committed to finding out what happened to her and will thoroughly investigate this case.”

He further urged the public to report any information they may have regarding the victim, explaining that details surrounding her identity are still being established.

The police have not yet released further information about the cause of the woman’s death, as they await the results of an autopsy.

Authorities are also working to confirm her identity and determine any potential connection she may have had with the suspect. As of now, police are treating the case as a suspected homicide, although they have not yet disclosed a possible motive.

This incident has deeply disturbed the Accra community, with residents expressing their concerns over the shocking crime. A resident commented,

“We’re all heartbroken and frightened. To think this happened in our neighborhood is terrifying. We hope the police get to the bottom of it soon.”

The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to face formal charges once investigations conclude. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to come forward, hoping to gather more clues to aid in solving the case.
