Hon. Bernard Owusu Bempah, the Assemblyman for Dzatabu Electoral Area and Chairman of Tema West Zonal Council, has debunked peoples’ perception that the Assembly is responsible for filthy market squares, as they refuse to perform their duties, in an interview on Plan B FM’s Nyansapɔ Fie show.
Hon. Bempah highlighted the perceived overlooked problem to the Assembly during his conversation with Nana Asabea, sparking concern and attention to this critical issue.
He stated that keeping the public in the dark about legal actions taken against perpetrators only creates more problems for the Assembly, therefore, advocated for transparency in such matters, as some people from various parts of the Municipality have already faced consequences.
Furthermore, Hon. Bempah encouraged the Assembly to hold accountable the entities contracted to dump the filth and to take action.
He also advised the public to ensure they dispose of their trash properly, by keeping it in their cars when traveling or storing it in their bags if necessary.
