GPL: Kokoto record narow win over Nsoatreman

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have registered their second win in four games in the 2024-2025 Ghana  Premier League season.

Kotoko beat Nsoatreman FC 1-0 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium with Elvis Kyei-Baffour scoring the game’s winner in the 47th minute.

The win comes on the back of Kotoko drawing with Berekum Chelsea in the immediate past round despite creating of chances.

Kotoko dominated the game statistically by registering more goal attempts (18 to Nsoatreman’s four), more shots on target (six to Nsoatreman’s one), more corner kicks (seven to Nsoatreman’s two) and ball possession (55% to Nsoatreman’s 45%).

Nsoatreman midfielder Daniel Amoo got sent off in the 78th minute after receiving his second yellow card; Amoo was shown his first yellow card in the 71stminute.

Kotoko take on Accra Lions next on Sunday, October 6 at 15:00 GMT at Obuasi; Lions beat Kotoko 3-2 away from home in last season’s campaign.

In another outstanding league game, defending league champions FC Samartex 1996 drew 1-1 with Bibiani Gold Stars.
