A gory road accident has led to the death of eight people at Poyentanga, a community in the Upper West Region. The deceased persons include a one and a half-year-old, Rainbowradioonline.com has gathered.
The vehicle, according to the details available, was loaded from Chiripong and headed to Techiman. Several others also sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The police and emergency service personnel were at the scene of the accident to assist the injured in being sent to the hospital for medical care.
The mortal remains of the deceased persons were also deposited at the mortuary.
Reporting from the scene of the accident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Nhyiraba Kobby Antieku said the accident was gory, with blood gushing out and all over the scene.
He said the car was attempting to dodge a pothole while on the road but unfortunately somersaulted. Eight out of the 17 passengers, he reported, died on the spot, with some losing their legs, hands, and other parts of their bodies.
He said the accident was a terrible one and has shocked people around, especially when a minor was involved.
