Scrap controversial E-levy before reinplantation of road tolls – NDC Communicator urges Gov’t

Scrap controversial E-levy before reinplantation of road tolls – NDC Communicator urges Gov’t

Cuts International, a consumer advocacy group, has urged the government to avoid burdening Ghanaians with both the road tolls and the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-levy) simultaneously.

The government during its mid-year budget presentation, announced plans to reintroduce road and bridge tolls in 2025.

The West African Director of Cuts International, Mr. Appiah Kusi Adomako voiced his concerns in an interview with the Media.

Reacting to this in a panel discussion on Plan B Fm’s ‘Nkosuonsem’ show hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Thursday, July 25 2024, a Communication team member of the National Democratic Congress NDC for Ashiaman Constituency, Nana Ansah said that, the E-levy caused massive confusion in Parliament during it implementation but the government resisted  all the heat to introduce it.

“Scrap the controversial E-levy before the reintroduction of road and bridge tolls” he indicated.
