Six kidney transplant surgeries have successfully been completed at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), the hospital has announced.
This is the medical facility’s first set of kidney transplant surgeries.
“The UGMC has so far conducted six kidney transplant surgeries with utmost precision, care, and expertise,” a statement issued on Sunday night, June 30, 2024, via social media, said.
The hospital also revealed the team which conducted the surgeries was a mix of local and foreign professionals.
Dr Kwame Anim Boamah, CEO of UGMC, remarked the six successful kidney transplants was a landmark demonstrating the facility’s commitment to medical excellence, and its ability and readiness to providing quality interventions for patients.
