The Police stopped the demonstrators who were protesting the sale of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) hotels midway through their march on Tuesday, June 19.

Instead of the agreed Christ The King end point, they were stopped midway on the switchback road in Cantonment, Accra.

Organiser of the Hands Off our Hotels demonstration Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa expressed his disappointment in the Police.

“Is this the Christ the King?” He questioned the Police

He further stated that some of the protesters had been rushed to the hospital for medical attention after suffering from the tear gas thrown by the Police.

“Some of the demonstrators have been rushed to the hospital. If anything happens to any demonstrators we will hold the Police accountable,” he said.
